1st Philippine Instagram Photo Exhibit

I’m an avid Instagrammer and so are you. But did you know about Instagramers Manila? It’s a community of Filipino Instagram’ers from all over the world that tell stories through photos every 9PM on Instagram.

If you’ve seen the hashtags #IGersManila #9pmhabit — that’s it. They’ve been meeting regularly during Instameets but it’s only now that the group is having its own Photo Exhibit sponsored by Globe. It’s a photo exhibit of Instagram snapshots taken during their photo walk sessions at the Bonifacio Global City, Luneta Park, Manila Bay, and Intramuros.

I’m a member of this group albeit not active on Instagram but I’m proud to support their activities. This November 30 until December 1, the first ever Philippine Instagram Photo Exhibit will be held at  Glorietta 4, Ayala Center in Makati City. See you there!

Noah’s 3rd Birthday | A LEGO Jollibee Kiddie Party

Special thanks to ClaudRod for making this Noah Lego Logo

We decided earlier that we would be having a small party at home for Noah this year. A small party meant our immediate families, a few relatives, and some friends. But when I finished the guestlist, the number totaled to 70. That’s still a lot for a small party. I planned on inviting them to our house by batch: families for lunch, relatives for merienda, and friends for dinner. That sounded not too practical as I knew I’d end up very tired and would be spending more. Then, I thought of getting a hotel suite and just inviting them over. That didn’t seem convenient to everyone but would be cheaper for us.

And then I remembered how Noah enjoyed the Jollibee mascot at his cousin Jam’s 1st Birthday Party. It was the first time that I really witnessed him have fun at a birthday party. Actually, that weekend he enjoyed three birthday parties that made me decide to finally schedule a kiddie party at Jollibee. So we did.

There were  70 guests and most of them were family, relatives, Joshua’s bandmates, my best friend’s family plus my mom’s friends at church. This was a “small” party so I wasn’t able to invite our churchmates and most of my friends. (Ang dami pa rin! Sorry, guys. Bawi kami sa 7th Birthday party. Planado na. Haha! Joke.) Babypaloooza Bazaar

So many bazaars this season. I’ve been raving about and promoting the Mommy Mundo Christmas Bazaar but sadly, I wasn’t able to go. I had a wedding-related appointed and a Comm Team meeting after that at our church. And then we had our Care Group at Ramen Cool in Kapitolyo. I thought I’d be able to go the next day Sunday but I guess I was really exhausted. The day before, I was out the whole day attending the “Investing in the Youth as Partners for Development ” conference. On Sunday, we went to church in the morning, lunch with the in-laws, and a merienda buffet at Dad’s Megamall to celebrate the birthdays of my bestfriend and her sister–two of my best girls in the world. We went home after that hoping to sleep and rest a little. What do you know, the one-hour nap turned into a 4-hour sleep! Wala na, tapos na ang bazaar. I wasn’t able to get my Mom 24/7 Planner:/

But wait, there’s another bazaar especially for the mommies. (Lahat naman ata ng bazaars for the mommies.) This time, it’s in the North– perfect for those who live ugh…in the North! Hehe.

Babypaloooza Bazaar

For those who live and work in Katipunan, La Vista, Diliman….para sa lahat ng mga QC, this one is for you. And of course, for the Ateneo mommies (read: mommies who are graduates of Ateneo, mommies of those who study in Ateneo, and wives of husbands who went to Ateneo), the Babypalooza Bazaar is for you.  You’ve been warned. :

Be sure you know the condition of your flocks,
give careful attention to your herds.

My Vintage Polly Pocket Collection

If you’re looking to buy vintage Polly Pocket playsets in the Philippines, this isn’t the place. I recently started this new collection which I hope to sell someday. I have about eight sets already and I wish to add more.

I never had a Polly Pocket when I was a kid because I remember it was expensive and fashionable then. There’s a new version of Polly Pocket available in toy stores in Manila today but it’s bigger.

The reason why I started to search the Internet for such vintage Polly Pocket toys because I know someday they will be worth something. I’ve seen a few online already that are being sold at outrageous prices. But I’m such a great bargain hunter, I get mine at lower prices. They’re currently hidden away from my son’s reach so I’ll share more photos soon.

I just added three sets to my Polly Pocket collection. Check them out:

How about you?  Did you have any Polly Pocket toy when you were a kid?

Looloo is the No. 1 Social App

A few days after the looloo app went live on the App Store, the iPhone 4S giveaway winner was chosen. Congratulations to Christine Sobraswerte! Looloo had to change her surname to prevent further stalking.

And just a week after the launch, the looloo app is now the number 2 Social app on the US App Store! How cool is that! In the PH App Store, it’s number 1!

I always knew the looloo app will be a success even if it’s a local app. The one million downloads may be a dream for now but nothing is impossible. And besides, I know your hard work will be rewarded. 🙂

Looloo rocks! Congratulations looloo!

Becoming the Person God Wants You to Be

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. James 1:17

We should strive to be that person and acknowledge that God knows what is best for us. He changes our situation or increases our load to prepare us in fulfilling more of our purpose in life. If you think God is about to do something–you’re feeling a desire to see His Kingdom come– it only means He is transitioning you. You are on your way to the next level. Holidays Rule 2012 Christmas Album

I’m currently listening to the Holidays Rule 2012 Christmas Album:

Holidays Rule available on Amazon and iTunes | $6.99

I came across this album while again, browsing Relevant Magazine. I was listening to a podcast featuring Dan Haseltine of Jars of Clay and this funky ‘Jingle Bells’ song played. Looking at the episode music list, I discovered it was by the “Sugar & The Hi Lows”. Unfortunately, I couldn’t locate their music (read: couldn’t download) so I  checked out the other artists. A simply search on Youtube led me to this Holidays Rule album which features Christmas covers by various artists. I’m not a music buff unlike my husband so I only know Paul McCartney and Rufus Wainwright from the list. Continue reading Holidays Rule 2012 Christmas Album
